About Faranah Faranah has been dancing in Western Massachusetts since 2001. She was introduced to bellydance by Rose Champagne, and has also studied with Shifah in East Longmeadow Ma, Shalimar in Hartford Ct, and Ismalia in Brattleboro Vt. Faranah began her professional carreer in 2006 and has performed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine. Dancing as a member of Troupe Sahibat she has performed in California, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and New Jersey. In 2009, Faranah and Sephira from Troupe Sahibat were chosen as ''Best Choreographers'' in the Viva La Diva Pageant in Boston. Faranah's love of this art form is expressed in every performance. It is her wish to share this joyous and sensuous dance with her audience and students. ''You have to love dancing to stick to it. It gives you nothing back, no manuscripts to store away, no paintings to show on walls and maybe hang in museums, no poems to be printed and sold, nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive.
